Park Sam-Hwa

Lee Kang-Jin
Abstract
As Korea rapidly becomes an aging society, the welfare for the aged is gaining much interest. As such, this study examined at-home beauty services, which is implemented in the range of welfare for the aged, and proposed development plans. To begin with, the key implication was drawn by comparing with situation in Japan, which established a good precedent. Japan has prepared a countermeasure, putting stress on the welfare for the aged. In contrast, Korea lacks the professional manpower and professionality to meet the demand for at-home beauty services. Based on this analysis, this study proposed three development plans£ºdeveloping pleasant, comfortable environment and having proper equipment, developing professionality of beauty service providers, and training beauty welfare professionals through a formal educational institution. At the conclusion, this study significantly shed light on the potential for growth of at-home beauty services, an unexplored field, by examining the present condition and proposing development plans.
